Inova X5 compare to the surefire L2 lumamax

You've got me stumped. Are you sure you have the right model number? I familiar with the L1 and the L4 both of them are far superior to the X5.

If I can make a suggestion, stick around here for a couple days and read the posts and use the search function. There is a virtual ton of info that is posted on comparisons of flashlight beams, size, shapes, batteries, etc.

Welcome to CPF,
GregR

P.S. Why don't you post this over in the LED light section maybe you could get more info.

Sorry, I made a mistake, it is the L4 LumaMax I was thinking of.

How much brighter is the l4 compared to the X5?

The L4 is at least 10 times brighter than the X5 but you pay for it in battery life. They're not the same type of light at all.

I agree. I have both lights and use the X5 for close up work where I have to use the light for extended periods. For everything else I use the L4 which as stated above is no comparison to the X5. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The X5 is UN-regulated, so you only get a couple of hours (if that) of its full brightness of about 100cd (from memory) while you get 600cd and a broader beam from the L4--but only for an hour. The KL1 head gives about 3-4 hours (again from memory) of more light (about 250 cd).

While I know some people like the X5--and it is a cute light--I couldn't wait to sell mine.

I still use 1W Luxeon Stars (I have four) but the 5W Luxeon Star blows those away (L4 which is slightly brighter than the SL TL-3LED).

Richard
