(Not sure whether to put this in the mods or LED forum...)

Does anyone have any experience with these adapters? I'm interested in one of the white ones to run in a 2D converted to 3C - but I'm not sure whether I should get the Yoldol or Kingbrite(?) version.

Anyone have any comments?

Jon

Good idea, I hadn't thought of an Inretech 20 LED in a 2 D cell light.

I too, wondered about the difference between the Yodol & Kingbright LEDS.

Of course, there are the multiple LED retrofit adaptors available on ebay all the time, with more LEDs, for less:

These are 32 LEDs:

This one is 20 LEDs:

I think I read a review of the 32 White somewhere. If I remember the review was less than outstanding?

Really? I remember someone here getting one, but last I heard, it was on it's way to them.

Hmm...

I think I'm going to try one in a single D cell Mag, with a 4AA-to-D cell adaptor. Should be fairly bright on 4 cells...

I bought one of the 20-LED (I think) adapters on ebay in January or February, but I don't know where it is right now. So I can't do any tests on it until I *find* it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon15.gif

Well, I put an email in to InReTech's sales dept. I'll post the response when (if?) I get one.

This is the type of device I was looking to build myelf to mod larger torches with multiple LED's.
I have bought a number of 3D and 4D torches for this very purpose.
The "sandwich-board" style to the drop in is very like my first plan for LED mods!

Empowertorch,

I've been wanting to do something similar but lack the skills (and time!). At the risk of dropping this thread into the Homemade/Modified forum, a 20 LED drop-in powered by a 400ma constant current boost converter (or maybe even 25x500ma) in a 2D handeld would be very, very handy.

Anyway, the direct-drive versions on eBay and at InReTech are ready-made and relatively cheap so that's the way I'm going to go. If InReTech answers my email, that is.
