' Hello Darryl, This would probably be something best done through Illumn.com. With a group buy, the group would need to provide the LEDs and would need to be a minimum of 25 ordered.

I would guess that moving to an LED that doesn't use the 3535 3-stripe footprint used by the Cree XP family, Nichia 219 family, Luminus SST-20, and a few other parts would require a rather larger group buy than just 25 pieces due to the need for a new PCB design.

So if what you're after is high CRI, that means sticking with Nichia 219 or the warmer Luminus parts

They already use both the 3000K and 4000K high CRI SST-20 in their warm and neutral variants, so really that leaves the 219 family.

In all honesty, the tint on my MDC AA 4000K SST-20 is pretty great and if they have consistent binning, I don't see a need for a special run. Just my 2 pennies....

I agree. I really just need a light to work, so I don't get caught up in tints....but the 4000K really is a fantastic tint.

I have two of the MDC heads with 4000K SST-20 emitters. I find the tint pretty good...as long as I don't compare it to a 219B.

Sorry about that haha. I've had some low quality Samsung "CRI" emitters with puke green tint.
