interesting keychain light

Now that is interesting. It looks like it probably just uses a typical incandescent lamp, but since it uses 1 AAA, if you could put an Arc AAA head on it, you'd be right..

That is too cool! I think I know somebody who might know a guy who could find sombody who could make an Arc head fit in there. Hmmm.

Andddd....??? You mean you saw them and didn't bring any back for us???!!!

Actually it says these things are 4 inches long, which means there is good size and possibly sufficient aluminum, so that if someone can tell me the thread dimensions/pitch of the Arc AAA I could tap/rethread that guy (I have a bunch of smaller taps) to fit the Arc head.

Anybody here gonna bid on these? If not then I just might...

*(edited) Waitaminute, it looks like the threads are on the outside of the body. Scratch that idea.

Alan,

I saw them in Ap Liu Street, but the ones I saw were using a few coin cells to run the single led. So I doubt that you can fit an AAA and and Arc head. But they might have ones that fit an AAA.

Have fun hunting!

from the picture it looks to me like the threads are on the inside of the head/outside of the body which is the exact opposite of the arc-aaa.

While I saw LOTS of wacky LED items on Temple street (two blocks from my hotel) I sure didn't see these!

I don't think I ever made it to the end of the Temple St. market. That thing just kept going and going and going. It would jog left then right, the jig left.... I gave up after what seemed like a few miles...

if you search ebay for the words carabiner and light, you will see several of those sets up for sale. several were at a "buy-it-now" price of $5.97.

I've seen what looked like these lights at a local flea market. The quality level of the light was low enough that I remember putting them back down on the table pretty fast. Even with an ARC head adapted to the clip, it would still look cheap because of the surface finish of the clip, at least based on the ones I saw. YMMV
