Looks like a lot of great flood and I think that is perfect for this light's intended purpose, for me anyway. Where do you usually get yours from?

Been thinking about updating my nautilus. An xp-e would also be a good upgrade. A boost in output, and you'd keep a throat beam, which was Enrique's intention.

Nice work!
Did you do it yourself? or farmed it out
to an offshore conglomerate??
Regards, Chuck :grin2:

Wow, aren't these notoriously difficult to crack open & mod? Beautiful beam there, I love the Aeon but am a little bit nauseated by its greenliness…

What LED did you have swapped in? I know it's an XP-G but what tint and bin? Was the reflector swap necessary? Nice job Milky! That turned out great.

I had him put an XP-G R4 5B neutral tint emitter in it. I guess the reflector swap wasn't exactly necessary, but if he was going to the trouble of getting the light open, I wanted to pair the XP-G with a more suitable reflector. I'm happy with how it turned out.

I'm only asking because I'm wanting a Muyshondt to swap an XP-G into and I want to learn but what makes the McR12 R more suitable than the original reflector? Also I checked out the McGizmo forums but I didn't see the reflector you have in there mentioned. How can I learn more? I think it turned out perfect! A great beam pattern for that type of light IMO!

What does Milky charge for a mod like that?

Is the low still low?

Send Milky a PM and he can get you a quote.

Yep. It's still using the stock driver with the same low and high current. The XP-G low actually seems a little lower to me, but I think it's due to the floodier nature of the beam. Here's a comparison shot:

Aeon Stock R2 XR-E - Low

Aeon XP-G modded R4 5B - Low

That looks really awesome. I'm contemplating an Aeon just so I can have Milky mod it like that.

The Aeon's should really come like that.
