See the laser Dot ?

Probably about a hundred, hundred-fifty max. Seems like a nice light.

Do you make these?(havent heard of Marine Lite). My uncle scuba dives and he needs a laser for getting lobsters. Your legally not allowed to touch the lobsters to get them out of their holes (with a tickler stick or anything), but you supposedly can get them out by annoying them with a laser. Problem is that the lasers he likes cost about $200. (Alot for a little laser if you ask me). So, this may be a good option for him. What's the real price?

Thanks for info. that Laser can help annoying a lobster so the hunter get more within limited diving time.

This first version ( so far not so attarctive, though) is selling at 500$ retail price here. For such price, I will buy two of Balbolight U-09.

And, I was told, sometimes this torch is being given free for the buyers who procured a dive suits or other equipments at scuba shops. I am not the manufacturer. But I am looking to improve some features ( regulation, battery alternatives and etc.)after hearing advices from all of you.

So any advice and comments will be appreciated.

Warren,

Re: Introduction 3x5watter Scuba light with Red La

cool light. I guess 8AA so there's less of a voltage sag. runtime must be short with 15w of power draw!!! I'd say tri-3 even though done a lot lately would be a more practical setup.

Could be a cheaper(?) alternative to the barbolight dive light...

Wonder if this is moddable? 4xluxIII w/17mm IMS would be cool!

Re: Introduction 3x5watter Scuba light with Red La

Yes. I know how we CPFers are thrifty. Every product I will make in the future will be a "Modifiable' one.

Which is better ; 3x 17mm IMS or TriLens Narrow Fraen ?
Any idea ?

Re: Introduction 3x5watter Scuba light with Red La

$500 USD !!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/faint.gif

I'm sorry, but I don't think that light is worth $200 rather then. I'm 1/4 to a Maxabeam for that !!!!. Who do those Manufacturers think they are !!!!!!!! OMG!!!!

Re: Introduction 3x5watter Scuba light with Red La

I agree this light is not worth than 200$. This is why I want to plan a neat torch with lower cost and better benefit.

Re: Introduction 3x5watter Scuba light with Red La

Can the laser expel a shark by aiming the laser beam at his eyes ?

Re: Introduction 3x5watter Scuba light with Red La

I would probably go to the luxeon III especially the newer ones coming out rated 125 lumens. This would reduce batteryt draw and spill. Spill is not good in an merky emviroment a good sharp beam is. The laser good easily be changed to a green one. The difference in the diodes is not $40-50. The fraen optics I hear are real good so I would either stick with them or got to their Trioptic which I have heard is a little better. You should be able to run the whole thig on 3.6 volts. I would go for either another pac of batteries in paraell or go up tp like a 4/3 I have been playing with 4500 mah. Even if the stars where pulling
and amp a piece that would give you and hour and half. A lot longer than most sport dives.

Annoying a lobster with a laser, will get hit him out his cave.

What do you think annoying a shark will do?

I doubt it. It wont work on aggressive attacking dogs. My glock has one. It unfortunately has been the last thing an attacking dog has seen.

There are people in Hollywood that scuba dive and will pay $ 500 U.S.D.

I'm not.

Re: Introduction 3x5watter Scuba light with Red La

Good Luxeon5's have been hard to come by these days for some reason.
I'm even having to accept a couple of returns because of that with my sn2 clones.
Some good bin Luxeon3's can outperform today's crappy Luxeon5's with a better runtime on top of that.

If you find a Luxeon3 version, then things may get interesting.
Or, if you are able to get into that 3x5 dive light and find some good bin Luxeon5's in there, tell us more please.
Good luck on this Warren.

Re: Introduction 3x5watter Scuba light with Red La

Stephen,

Yes. I prefer 3x Lux-III for its more focused beam and 30-50khours guarantee run time while Lux-V has only 500hours.

My source of this Lite is not well trainned yet for the electronics and behavior of Luxeon.

All the time, I will need everyone's advice.

Warren,

Looks interesting, has anyone every tried reflectors in a three setup? Just wondering if it would even work. I like the beam comming out of a reflector better for many of my personal led lights, I do have a couple of tri-optic lights and they do really throw the light.

I don't know where "here" is but in the USA it would take a major purchase at full retail to be able to "Give" a free light with a retail of $500.00 to somebody.
The dealer cost would be in the $300.00 range and that's a lot of money.

Project Mag3X

The Fraen LP optic is a throw king, but I find the SO20XA combines the best of throw, flood, and everything in between. It will still reach 330 yards, not as bright (even with 3 Luxeons) as a single 27mm Pelican reflector or Lux3 in a 52mm Mag reflector, but at anything shorter, it does shine. It looks great even at 2ft where the PR-T's hotspot is a little too pronounced at that range.

Re: Introduction 3x5watter Scuba light with Red La

Mike Painter : Here is Korea. Thanks for comment.

KevinL : Which gives more throw : Fraen LP 3x or S020XA 3x, for the divers who wants longer throw ?
