Is a (2C mag) + (2 x 18500) + 1274P feasible

My neighbor is asking some me questions that I felt better getting answers to here. He wants to build a 2C Mag74, of sorts. He wants to use (2) 18500 protected batts, and a potted 1274. I know the 1274 can take 7.2v and give you 553L, it can be overdriven to 8.4V. Now, a 18500 is 1.5 x cr123 in length, if I'm correct. Why can't you put a pvc sleeve in the 2C mag ( ala 3 x cr123 set up ) drop in 2 18500 batts, maybe a mag of the ring spacer to relieve spring tension, some sort of metal reflector and a borofloat lens, and call it good? will this work? will this fire the 1274 on a single click? :thinking:

Each 18500 is almost same lenght as "C" cell. So, you don't need any extender but sapcer tube is necessary to hold batteries center in barrel.
AW's protected 18500 will easily power the 1274 but brighter choice is WA1111
