Had occasion to use my RRT-01 the other day, it usually lives in my laptop bag, inside a nylon holster. The belt clip apparently fell off and the screws are long gone.

Is it time to step up to the big leagues and buy an HDS rotary? Seems like every time I try to compromise I'm disappointed. Just want a single 123 light, pref. high CRI, with the ring and a tail cap switch. I used to carry a V11R now RRT-01 so you can see what my preferences are. I'd actually buy another V11R if they were available.

It's the newer clicky version. Honestly it's perfect except it's only lasted a couple years before falling apart.

Get yourself an HDS, buy once, cry once. I bought the Tactical 325 lumen rotary used from a seller on this forum and have no regrets.

Have you tried using thin wax sticks to find the thread pitch? Like thread them in, or melting the wax into the holes and attaching a rod to unscrew them?

By the time I id'd the screws and ordered them from McMaster-Carr it'd be cheaper to buy another RRT-01.

We get it, mr. Director, your time is valuable lol
It's not time, a new RRT-01 is what, $50? It's not even worth ordering from McMaster-Carr unless you're restoring something irreplaceable as it's going to be $10-15 shipping for a box of 100 screws that you need 2 of...

However I did do that for some old Dazor lamps and I now have four of them and all of them needed new screws and amazingly I did not lose the box 🙂

You can buy spare pocket clips for your RRT-01 from [email protected] I dont know the current price, but they used to cost $1 each, plus $8 shipping.

The clip comes with screws and a wrench. I personally prefer the short clip, but you can buy and try both if you like.. (these clips fit all versions of RRT-01)

I install the clip screws w a bit of blue loctite.

inside a nylon holster.
fwiw, the HDS Rotary clip is rather bulky (and costs $66 extra).. but if you keep the light in a holster, a clip is not needed.

you can buy a brand new RRT-01 for $46, clip included ;-)

We all know that the damn boxes of screws and 10mm sockets were all designed by the same evil person...

thank you! I did poke around their web site but didn't see a service parts section.

it's more that I kept it in a holster, inside a pocket in my laptop bag to keep it from getting beat up by rangefinders, pens, tape measures, and the other stuff that collects in there because I actually use it for my job. When I carry it on me I do use the holster. I do like having that little extra bit of insurance it won't run away (especially when we're talking about one as expensive as a HDS - and holy cow, I just looked, they are even more expensive today than I remember! maybe ordering another RRT-01 is the way to go...)

The son of the guy who invented the 7/16" socket and the grandson of the guy who decided that socks should match.

I'm quite frankly amazed that I still have that box of screws. I think I originally bought it close to 20 years ago from McMaster-Carr, the things are tiny, I want to say 6-32x3/8" or something like that, so the box is about twice the size of a small matchbox and the last time I needed to get some of those screws I found it fairly quickly and easily.

I'm also amazed that I've found three Dazor lamps for almost nothing in thrift stores, after deliberately buying one all those many years ago, but I'm not going to complain about that either.

Ah, the good old 6-32×3/8 lol...good for LED downlight mounting, among other things.
