Is my TerraLUX LED Mag drop-in outdated?

I just ordered a new TerraLux TLE-6K2 today. I too have a 3D Mag.
I will use 4C cells in the 3D and the cap spring reversed. This way
you can get the full potential brightness out of this awesome new
TerraLux module! I don't know how it compares to the OLD TerraLux
drop in, but it should be about twice as bright.
Get the new one, and use in a 4 Cell Mag!
 
Yep, I think your old Terralux Led is outdated. The New one uses a MUCH brighter LED (P4 Seoul on Cree die VS the old K2) So, yea, go get the new one.. it should be twice as bright with longer throw. I'm going to order one soon. 😀

Just drop it in like a normal light bulb. It's that easy! The good thing about this new TerraLUX LED is self regulated, so you can use it in a 4D, 5D, 6D also! One size fits all!
 
so guys how much is this new regulated led?? i am thinking of getting the diamond 6.5 K2. i have a 3 watt diamond in a 3 D and it is great and the guy told me that the K2 was 20% brighter but i think they are non reg. and i think that battery life will be less... tell me what i need to do here guys. thanks

I thought the deal with the new TerraLUX model was that they work great on the 4D and larger, but not so much on the 3D? Minimal improvement or some such?
 
RickyT, thanks, that answers the question. It's an upgrade! Mag makes one of the best physical lights out there, but their bulbs have always sucked :rant: This upgrade will make it even better than the last one.
 
While it's certainly brighter in 4+ cells vs 3 cells it's still a massive improvement in a 3 cell light. You can also use 4C's in a 3D Mag with minimal effort to attain the higher output level.

I have a 2D Mag and got one of these from Litemania, #16 on his list. It let's me use 6AA's in a 2D Mag, maximum brightness minimum hardware/weight.. 🙂
 
I have had the TerraLux TLE-6K2 for about two months now and it is has already been outdated with the new TerraLUX MiniStar5 SSC P4 U bin LED. It still is an improvement
over the original bulb
