Is the TLE-5 drop in a buck/boost circuit?

I think it has to be at least a boost to get the voltage high enough for the LuxIII emitter. I have a black E1e that I want to start modding tomorrow. I have a GD 500 board I was going to use for it, but if a SSC P4 modded TLE-5 will work in there, then I'll use that and stick the GD500 in my L1....

Oops, can't use a GD500 on 2 cells, it will only take 5.4v. Back to plan A...
