Is there an LED FAQ that explains/compares the different types..

Bump... Anyone know of one?

I'm interested in seeing images or reading decriptions of the differences between tints. The graphs in the binning and labelling spec sheets are no use to actually SEE what colour they'll look.

I've used W0 Seoul's and noticed the blue tint, V0 had no blue tint and appeared pure white to me. Of the Cree's i've used, I haven't know the tint. I just received WC tint Cree's instead of WH tint, how much difference will there be?

This is probably a really dumb question, but do the pads on the bottom side of a Cree emitter need to be isolated from the surface it is going to be attached to? I always thought the benefit of Cree's over SSC was that the emitter's base didn't need to be isolated.

I made an aspheric Mag and epoxied an emitter directly to a non-anodized heatsink and have not had any problems, but don't understand how the pads aren't contacting the heatsink and shorting.

All I can say is do a good search for these LEDs with the search function. For some technical info, check out Newbie's hobby site. It compares Cree XR-Es, Seoul P4s, and the Lumileds Rebel. I forgot if there is more. Here is the site:

There is more info around CPF elsewhere. Good luck with your quest!
