is this a PT 40 ?

Looks like the rage as the description reads micro cells which is AAA whereas the 40 uses 4 AA cells which would be called Mignon.

Look at Globetrotter for a reasonable priced tec40 in germany.

Hallo nach Dortmund

Klaus,
you're right with the aaa. but what's about the 4 watts ? Sounds like PT TEC40 and looks like TEC40.
I asked because its cheaper than the Tec40. The rage is in the same price-class.

Hi artar,

you are right - give them a call - at that price its a bargain ! The 4W they advertise is the same wrong number than PT uses - the TEC40 actually uses a halogen 4,8V 0,5V ~ 2,4W bulb.

But doublecheck the price + shipping + Nachnahme (15 Euro + 10 DM shipping + 8 DM Nachnahme = 24 Euro already) - at least you can sent it back with no hassles it seems when its not what you thought it should be.

Linfeng, many companies with strong marketing channels bought their products from ODM (original design manufacturer) and enter exclusive agreement for a specific region. That's one of reasons why the same product might have different name in different region.

Besides, unless the product has a very good design (either technically or cosmetically) and VERY popular in the market, it's not worth to invest in expensive molding tool to clone it. PT might not be as well known in other countries as they are in specific market in the States, not to mention the *look* of specific model, I don't think someone will clone it.

Just my speculation.
