is zebralight sc5w ii the best aa light?

its just so dang old. id would of guessed by now a new driveer and led would be out. my number one important feature of lights is the most lumens per watt. tint is like 3 or 4th fav feature and small size is 2nd best feature

Olight's AA Light Specs:
300~150~30 lumens/3 minutes + 25 minutes + 122 minutes

Zebralight's AA Specs:
407~166~46/30 minutes, 168 minutes, 588 minutes, with a max of 550!

Same as the OP. One of the best AA light on the market.
1) Excellent runtimes
2) Good lument output > 500 lumens
3) Runs on primary or rechargeable AA
4) Small package

Yup Zebralight SC5w II is still the best of the best for AA lights.

And surprisingly, the several-year-old SC64w Hi is still probably the best ultra-compact 18650 EDC light in terms of efficiency and ability to maintain brightness.

I have an SC5, an SC5 MK II, and an SC53. The original SC5 was built like a tank, but seemed unnecessarily heavy, and the MK II did a nice job in trimming it down. The SC53 is a fine light, but never had the top end lumens of the SC5 models.

Maybe actually learn something about the light before you judge it?

One short click can turn on the light at any level you want. Holding the light cycles through any three combinations of brightness you want. Double clicking any level can change to any other level you want. Three clicks turns on any strobe variation...that you want. Four clicks tells you your battery level.

Does a Quark that uses single AA exist? I guess you mean the 12 year old Quark MiNi AA? Not even in the same universe.

i love the ui but i do have issues geting the rythm down. i changed g7 so the highest level was one step below the abilty of the light. but it drove me batty id click 3 timmes to go down a level in setup mode and it would just turn off lol

I far prefer Anduril, but I've gotton used to the ZL interface too.

I got the c since I prefer the hi cri. Ive gotten used to the UI. I use mine a lot, especially for the low outputs. None of my other light go that low except the rotarys. The versatility is great. Got mine set up with single click to medium 80lm, double to high 350 or so, and long press for low 2 or 3lm. Just wish it diddnt have strobe.

Does a AAA light count? How about a maglite solitaire. 1 whole lumen. Simple ui. Can't beat that

Thanks for this post. Nothing bothers me more than somebody trashing something and not having a clue about its operation.

Well it may be 12+ years. EDC and most of the black is worn off.
I am going to consider the Zebralight. I like single AA lights for camping and work where recharging may not be readily accessible.
