The annual Isle of Man TT motorcycle race started today, with practice and qualifying scheduled for this week. It's been called the most dangerous race in all motorsports. Beginning in 1907, it covers a 37-mile course on closed public roads with spectacular scenery over farmland, rural, urban, and suburban areas. In some sections of the racecourse, fans can line the edge of the road and are so close they can literally reach out and touch the riders. These men have nerves of steel and balls of brass. Over 166 racers and fans have been killed throughout its history. Last year, a father and son sidecar team were killed. Just watching this on TV tends to pucker the butt.

Here is the link for the race schedule; https://www.iomttraces.com/racing/page/schedule/
Here is the link to purchase the live stream, if you are so inclined; https://ttplus.iomttraces.com/browse. $30 for two weeks of commercial free racing is actually not a bad deal.

I recently requested the live stream on the Discord channel; TNS-LIVE by Beam, and it was just verified and approved as a daily event, Here; https://tnslive.net/tns-live-plus/. You might have to join the channel to watch it, but it's free to join and watch. Here is the invite link; https://discord.com/invite/mJyWFkGwQw
Just an FYI; I've been watching this for hours and I can verify THIS IS NOT MALWARE. I repeat, "THIS IS NOT MALWARE".

I don't subscribe to cable TV or any streaming service, either. You can only watch it live here; https://ttplus.iomttraces.com/browse. I don't think it's even rebroadcast anywhere. Though you might be able to catch some highlights on YouTube. It costs $30 for two weeks of live-streaming, well worth it, IMO. I'm watching it on the TNS-LIVE Discord channel for free. They actually purchase these live events and stream them. Here is the free invite link; https://discord.com/invite/mJyWFkGwQw. All you need is internet access.

This 4-year-old butt-puckering video has rare footage of one rider who crashed and died going over a cliff at 3:18. Looks like a rag doll. Don't say I didn't warn you;

Not sure how many racers have died in the TT, but they just say 'succumbed to injuries' alot.
There is no other place on earth you could do it, for so many reasons.

You could have a tiny issue with your bike, brakes, tires, engine braking dot dot dot
Trees, stone walls, dew on roads, curbs, soo many factors that would end you

Macau Grand Prix is dangerous, the TT is outside classification for dangerous,
and I'm a motorsports fan, grew up around it.

In the 117-year history of the TT, over 166 racers and fans have died there. Even more if you include the amateur Manx race. Last year, a father and son sidecar team died. It's a major revenue contributor for the small island. Very important event for them. They are a self-governing entity. Not subject to British rule.

And small animals crossing the road. Like the duck that crossed in front of a rider earlier today. Scary stuff.

TT qualifying was cancelled for today (tonight?) due to weather conditions... and a couple of cows that mosied on the course, lol.
They keep referring to tonight's race and the qualifying begins at 6:30 pm their time,1:30 EST. Sidecars don't start until after 8:00 pm. Does anyone know how the f*** they can possibly race at night on that course, going upwards of 180 mph? Must have some pretty powerful flashlights, Lol
Confirmed; they do race at night under floodlights. I don't see any headlights on those bikes either. UTTER INSANITY!

OK, I gave in. I was on YT site looking at something unrelated and I saw this displayed (for reasons unknown) and just had to take 5 minutes to grab a little 'fix'. You guys are a bad influence:

This is maad! You made me log in to discord after years not being there instead of working

My son is a real fan of motorsports and I wanted to show him this, but so some reason the stream on https://tnslive.net/tns-live-plus/ does not work for me. It's just a black screen...

Here is the announcement posted today by the TNS-LIVE Admin; @everyone Tonight's qualifying session has been cancelled. Roads around the TT course will no longer close as scheduled. The first part of the Mountain Road will remain closed whilst Police investigate the earlier RTC. This is the second day qualifying was cancelled (also on Tuesday due to weather). They scheduled two qualifying sessions for Friday to make up for it. Are you seeing the daily schedule for the rest of the event on TNS-LIVE?

The death numbers include those from the entire Manx race (includes amateurs)

Do you mean this? (n)
Yes. That's it. If it's listed, it will be broadcast. When someone requests a stream, TNS-LIVE actually purchases the event and re-broadcasts for all to watch. The TT has been verified and approved as a daily event.

Here's the remaining schedule, (subject to delays and cancellations, of course) in CST (commie standard time); https://www.iomttraces.com/racing/page/schedule/
