ISS or Shuttle "Coma" Tail

Two nights ago the ISS & Space Shuttle crossed the sky and the dimmer, first, object had a comet-like tail coming from the near side circling around behind it to the opposite side. The misty comet-like tail followed its source and wrapped more than half way around it.

The second object was brighter, similar to Jupiter, but without a tail. I don't know which one was the ISS or Shuttle.

Ionizing activity or ice crystals from a huge space flush? This was visible by most people in my neck of the woods.

I wouldn't have a guess as the to misty coma tail type of object/s that you saw, but the big Jupiter sized reflection is the main structure of the ISS itself. I'm trying to picture or understand the description of the "circular" shape, but any material released up there should only appear to move straight outward from the main body...a spray for example.
