After blowing the bulb in my Surefire 6P (using rechargeables), it sat lonely and unused in a drawer until one day I came across this site. After asking questions, window shopping, drooling, and window shopping some more, a few months went by and I finally pulled the trigger...

I'm honestly not sure what this thread is about. Why is it in this section? Why did you buy an 18650 extension and a dummy cell? You're making it longer for no reason and the 18650 or the dummy cell will not fit in your light anyway unless you've had it bored. All you would've had to do was buy a 17670 and everything would work

I thought this was the appropriate section to share this sort of thing, and yes it has been bored. I wanted the extra length and was advised against stacking 2 18650s. The 18650 batteries I had (ultrafire) had crapped out from lack of use.

Ah just wanted a longer light. Ya stacking the cells would fry the drop in. You really should have gotten a 2 cell drop in then you could've taken advantage of the extra length

Yeah, your modual is not rated for the voltage of 2 Ii-ions. You could probably find a higher voltage Drop in, then use 2 Li-ions. It you're going to run an extension you might an well benefit from the extended runtime.

Ultrafire, go figure. * fire batteries are crap.

Meanwhile, Welcome to the club.

Who?
I don't know him personally, Can you be more specific?

He's trustworthy, his QC is top notch.
Wonderlite is the local distributor.
I can get you links later when I'm on my comp.

Here's the Wonderlite sales thread for AW batteries.

You can buy from AW direct, but he is in china and shipping for batteries is said to be very slow cause they do not permit them to ship out of the country via airmail. (I'm assuming you are in North America). I've bought from Wonderlite before.

You have to sign up to a different forum to use that sales thread. CFP Marketplace is separate from this section of the forum and requires another registration. I have not bothered. I just emailed the guy directly using the email listed in that thread.

Otherwise they also have a website. Nitemods.com as linked in their sig line.

That's a good cell but a bit pricey. Check out illumination supply. Look for something around 2500-3000mah. With that dropin it can't use the extra capacity anyway

Bigger is not better if your light need a lot of current to run, in which case you need a stronger IMR cell that can crank the amps but tend to have lower capacity.

In you Case with a common XML drop in, the bigger, then yeah, the better runtime.
