I have read through many of the threads for info but much of it is way over my head as I am new to all the terminology.

I want to start using rechargeable's RCR123 batteries, the regular cr123a are getting to expensive. I want something that is safe as I have never used rechargeable's before. And I am getting older and my memory is not what it used to be.

Would AW LiFePO4 3V be the way to go? I will be using them in 3 Surefire lights a Z2, 6P, and 9p all with LED drop-ins?

Thanks, for the help!!!

I haven't been using RCR's too long... but eagerly took the plunge and haven't had any problems. Understand of course their capacity isn't on a par with CR123's so you'll be charging them more often than you would ,,, say an NiMH. I've also found that in a couple of my lights, there won't be a warning when the cells run low. (this is using protected cells ONLY) My NiteCore will blink, but others will just instantly go dark when you least expect it. Many will advise to frequently top-off the charge. I've not adopted that practice yet. I've found many of these characteristics have also shown themselves in 18650's and 14500's. In 16340's (RCR's) I have TrustFire and AW. They both seem to perform pretty much the same IMO.

Oh yeah...of course you'll also need the Pila charger! (recommended by CPF'ers)

I've never used UN-protected cells.
