I purchased a Nitecore HC30W headlamp through a group buy from GearBest in May of this year. The rubber piece that attaches the light to the headband broke around one of the mounting loops. I wrote to Nitecore asking for a replacement under their warranty. Well, you would have thought I was asking for their first born male child. First they wanted me to provide the model #, the date and place of purchase along with the receipt. I gladly sent them this information. Then they wanted the s/n off the light. I sent that to them. Then they claimed the s/n was not in their database and they told me to contact [email protected] to locate the proper service center for me. I did this and they wrote back saying they would ship one from Hong Kong but I would have to pay the shipping charges. I could buy an entire new headband for what they wanted to charge me. We're talking about a part that probably costs .50 cents. I cannot believe they wanted me to jump through all these hoops for something so small. BUYER BEWARE when purchasing anything from Nitecore, their warranty is useless.

I think a mod will soon tell you that you have not suffered enough to meet the minimum requirements for posting a jeer.
After sales support, especially from GBs, and especially from GearBest is iffy.
It's a tradeoff worthy for consideration for your future purchases: higher prices but much better customer service from a reputable dealer vs much lower prices and the risk of getting a lemon and receiving poor to no customer service.

This is always a risk with the GBs and purchases from unofficial / unsanctioned distributors.

I'm not sure where you're at, but in the US NitecoreStore (LumenTactical) is the official distributor. If you buy from them they handle the service directly. They said they typically turn issues around same day. I had a problem; they had a new unit in my hands within about a week of when I reported the issue. When buying through the unsanctioned channels the authenticity may be in question and the service will always have to go back to the home office, meaning long weights and high shipping costs.

Point well taken. The three important factors to consider when dealing with any business are lowest price, highest quality and customer service. In reality a company can only have up to two of these but not all three.

Please buy from authorized dealers only folks. Some companies don't require it for warranty, but I think most do.

It sounds like Nitecore did respond to your needs, even if the conditions were not to your liking. They were willing to replace the part, and asked you to cover shipping. While not to your liking, you admit they addressed your issue. Sorry, but the Jeer criteria are seemingly lacking. Thread closed.
