Hi!

First of all, it's terrific to see Jetbeam return with an array of nice new products. Bravo! :D

The Jet 2 IBS looks interesting! But also a bit confusing. What is the difference between "Jet 2 IBS" and "Jet 2 Pro IBS"?

As far as I can tell, here are the differences:

J2: OP vs. J2 Pro: Smooth
J2: tailstands vs. J2 Pro: does not
J2: no clip vs. J2 Pro: clip
J2: head 32mm vs. J2 Pro: head 29mm
J2: $58 (ebay) vs. J2 Pro: $76 (ebay)

Summary: add $18 for a different reflector and a clip. Slight difference in dimensions. Is that right?

Pretty good summary.

The Jet-II PRO has a choice of reflectors (OP or SMO), while the older Jet-II has only one (OP).

Also, I understand the older Jet-II is an interim version, due to be discontinued soon.

Cheers,

Thank you. Does the pro come with both reflectors, or only one?

The Jet II IBS doesn't tailstand. I'm not sure whether the Jet II Pro IBS does or doesn't.

I know this is not the light the OP was talking about, but it seems the new Jet 1 Pro IBS is coming with a Q5 rather than the R2 in the previous version that seems strange just my 2cents

The 2 Pro also does not have the head focusing feature, with locking ring, that the 2 IBS has. The 2 IBS has excellent throw for its size, and can be easily adjusted for a floodier beam. When I saw the 2 Pro wasn't adjustable, I bought a spare 2 IBS. No regrets -- it went to the top of my EDC rotation.

Exactly, which makes for an additional crucial difference:

- Jet II : emitter pill assembly is a discrete, easily upgradable part
- Jet II Pro : emitter pill assembly is integrated in bezel (press-fit ?), not user removable

Further notable difference, about the switching lock-out feature:

Jet II : bare tail threads, no lock-out
Jet II Pro: anodized tail threads, lock-out is available

Looks like both these torches are very similar in ways and both almost look identical, but really there's not much of a difference, plus looks like the JetBeam II IBS has some better functions on it such as focusing ring. I mean there's an approx a $20 difference between the two but is it really worth to pay that extra $20 and get the Pro ?
