Well I don't know what's wrong. I suspect the threads on the extender are out of spec or something. It arrived today and I tried to screw it in but only screws in a bit. I tried some CLP to see if it would work and nothing. No matter what I try it wont screw in any further. In fact it got "stuck" so I had to use vise grips to remove it. The tailcap screws in all the way on the flashlight so I don't think it's the tailcap. Yeah also the extender is gray and the flashlight OD :ohgeez:

Weird, maybe the different finishes have different thread size?:shrug:

But just looking at it, there aprears to be "too much thread" and it doesn't even look like it would fit into the tailcap, even if you wanted to!

I have the light and the extender with the grip ring and it goes together very well. Just looking at my light (extender) and the pictures the threads are way to long preventing it from going all the way. You just got a dud. Send it back and get the replacement. Just curious but could you tell me where you got it at?

Sounds like you may have gotten an extender from the first run of M1X (OD is from the 3rd batch). I don't believe the tailcaps were interchangeable from the 1st to 2nd run either.
