I don't know the answer to your question but I sold my M2CX4 because I had no confidence that it was dust and water proof enough for caving. But it had the best combo of flood and throw of any light I ever saw. Also, the annoying accidental strobing was more than I could tolerate.

Not sure about M1X since it's quad die, but Raptor 1 throws better than M2X.

But I personally trust Jetbeam more than Eagletac.
