Just visited BugOutGearUSA and saw a new JETBeam in the coming soon section: the JETBeam MCE. A JETBeam with a MC-E, sounds really great . Does anybody know more about this?

MCE?? will it be a dramatic improvement over the Q5?
I want one!

Since it has 4 dies instead of 1, it has the potential to be nearly 4 times the output.
This will be at the expense of throw and runtime.
So it really depends on what you consider to be an improvement.

or more potential of
more output at the same output
or same output with more runtime.

since underdriving a led is more efficient than overdriving.

the beam will be wider with less throw.

Warmin' up the ol' Paypal..

Looks like I'll keep an eye out for this.
I just received my jet III pro. First jetbeam light I've owned and I must say its really nice.

I hope they go for some great output.

I hadn't noticed that... Smok'n' But I hope it takes a little while to show up... I've bought enough lights (including 2 Jetbeams) recently. It would also be nice to compare it to the competition.

I wonder what the Power Source will be.

The one thing that I am concerned about is the heat it would generate.
Would they cut back on the output for slightly longer run times.
Or will they go for it cranking out max lumens.
Smaller flashlights (Which I assume they will will be making) turn into great hand warmers quickly with quad dye LED's.
Other than that I am also looking forward to that light

I'll go out on a limb and say you'll find a lot of MC-E lights popping up in announcements, especially as we get near SHOT show.
Using an MC-E is nice but what will matter more is the cell type, the driver and the LED drive current, the LED tint, etc. In the end the company that makes the best overall light will get my money... not the company that comes in third place for bringing the MC-E to market.

I've been looking to buy a JETBeam and an MC-E for a while, so this just might work :). But I'm waiting for reviews - for me at least JETBeam hasn't been the most reliable at delivering the flashlight I expected. Although recently they've been improving rapidly

I hope it's compact, like a MC-E version of their original PRO. Although heatsinking might become an issue at very high outputs, I don't see any reason why we can't get a bit more output and runtime out of the same size package. Besides, if eagletac can properly heatsink an overdriven Q5 in their single-cell models, others should be able to get a bit more out of a flashlight twice that size.

definitely worth keeping an eye on it. It seems more manufactures are starting to put the MCE into smaller size lights

Hmmm Jetbeam MC-E? Sounds good...something like a Jet III M UI would be nice.:twothumbs
