Does the MkIIx put out 150 lumens? Probably at the emitter. I can only compare mine to my Cree/Huntlight FT01XSE which is rated at 135 lumens.
With both lights using 3.7v cells, the Huntlight throws farther and appears brighter. But then it has a larger smooth reflector. My huntlight pulls 870 mA on high from a freshly charged 18650. My MkIIx pulls 1430 mA from a freshly charged 14500 at 100% output.
Both lights are capable of rediculously bright output. I've had the Huntlight for about a month and hardly use its highest level because it's just not necassary unless I want to be impressed.
Using a 14500, the MkIIx has more potential output at night than I really need. I don't think you will be disapointed.
BTW, I measured the current draw of every output level. Comparing the primary mode's 3 levels to the advanced mode's 10 levels, primary's Med, Low & High are running at 35%, 5% and 60%. I believe Emil thought this out very nicely. In primary, you have 3 useful light levels that won't run down the battery too quickly along with a tactical strobe at close to 100% output that in today's world could be helpfull in thwarting someones aggresion.
If you want 100% output which again is pulling more than 1.4 amps from a 700 mA/hr 14500, you just press the tail cap in primay low for 2 seconds and then release for advanced 100%. No instructions came with my light but it was pretty easy to get the hang of all of the functions.
