Hi,
I bought a Jetbeam RRT-01 a month ago to replace by Sunwayman V11R (my EDC) that was damaged. I thought that I could use my supply of 16340 batteries which does work, kind of. It works OK as long as you don't shake it even lightly, then it flickers.

The battery that it came with is a 18350 with a micro USB charging port. It looks like it's about 40mm long instead of 35mm for a 18350 or 34mm of a 16340.

The change to 18350 is a welcome one with the 1100mAH capacity but I'm afraid that a 18350 without the extra 5mm (for the USB) will flicker when shaken.

So, to me it looks like they designed this to fit this funky battery and I'm afraid that standard 18350s will

flicker when lightly shaken like the 16340 is doing, unless I can find some with the USB port on them. Which I don't need since I have a nice Nitecore D4 charger.I guess, I'll find out. What do you guys think, do I need to buy these funky batteries?
Thanks

it's about 40mm long

these spacers are 2.5mm thick, you could use more than one

or probably even better if you stick a magnet to the negative side of the 16340 battery

these 12x5mm Neodymium would work, IF the 16340 battery is 35mm long, and if you need to make the battery 40mm long

or, IF the 16340 is 37mm long, use a 12x3mm magnet to reach 40mm. This is probably the best option...

great info! I did not know the RRT-01 fits a 50mm long cell.. Im suprised you need an adapter at all. I misunderstood what you meant by adapter, the photo cleared that up.. lol

For the benefit of @walkingdude, bear in mind the RRT-01 has No LVP. The Fenix battery Is protected, as is the stock 18350

Thanks guys,
I see the the Fenix 18350 chargeable is protected and 39.2 mm long so that should work nicely.
I guess it's just my low experience in this stuff that made me think the battery would actually be 35 mm instead of 40 or close enough to it so it wouldn't giggle around like my 16340's.

And thanks Jon_Slider, I do always buy protected batteries. I have been around here enough to know that. haha

I do like to keep a good few of non-rechargeable batteries for emergencies. I guess I'll have to see if these work well also...
