OK - I am not the brightest bulb in the pack (get the pun? good one, huh?!) but I need some help figuring out all these new options in the JIL light series and the new CREE thing that is going on.

I am looking for a CR2 light (b/c of the short length) or 123 cell to upgrade my Jil 1.3wUP light and also to consider a mate for a briefcase light. I like the idea of the ones that have the tube extensions (like the JILs) that I could add to put in the briefcase so as to add run time and also power output.

Now - on the information around LEDs and the "bins" and all that stuff...I am ignant about those things! I can tell you alot of info about some things, but for some reason this whole LED thing is beyond me - maybe I am not smart enough or don't listen well enough or God just did not give me the gift of LED discernment, but I want to understand this stuff. Anyone have a good LEDs for Dummies suggestion?

Ok - enough about that...here are some things that I have thought about:
(Remember SIZE is important because I carry this bad boy in a suit pocket - I don't want it to look like I have a flashlight in my pocket!) I LOVE the lights that have the ability to be: 1-CR2 or 123 cell OR multiple cells of either the CR2s / 123 cells or multiple AA lights. A clicky tail switch would be GREAT, but not required.

JIL "improvements" (like the new series, the new drop in kits - although not sure I understand what the new sandwiches do and also the body extensions - although they are recommended for the INTELLI)
The JETBeam lights
The Fenix series

What else?

Please advise and I look forward to hearing your thoughts and suggestions.

If I am reading your post correctly, you may want to look at the Peak Pacific. It can use a CR2, AA, or AAA battery tube. With the CR2 pocket body the thing is really small. Peak is now using the Seoul LEDs upon request and they have the LuxIII on sale.
