Re: Jmpaul320 OTF Lumen Sphere Readings & throw measurements!

Big thanks jmpaul for you awesome work:) the tk75vn being 5000k,wonder how that compares to the 6500k tk75vn,wonder what lumen is lost between versions:thinking:

The supbearacebeam is very impressive :D ,seems similar to the tn35vn but i still want one

Top stuff:thumbsup:

I'm going to do some retesting today just to be sure. One of the numbers on the tn36s looked suspiciously low.
Hmm not good at all.

The difference between bins is anywhere between 0 and 14%... With the average usually being 7%... Im seeing more than 20% though... Im sure things like optics and driver efficiency come into play as well.

No point in speculating though I guess lol. I will just report the numbers.

What do you mean by different bins?

At first I thought there was a mistake with the tn36vn warm white (cool white version does 8000+ lumen) - but I did retest a few time to confirm the numbers. I suspect the leds in the warm white (4000k-ish tint to my eyes) are 2 bins lower than the cool white. Maybe vinh can confirm if he knows the eact led used... Bins can vary 0-14% between each other usually - meaning warm white vs cool white could be up to 28% less lumen.

I guess this is all just a guess and speculation - could be a number of other things, overall resistance.... driver efficiency, optics... etc.

After testing both the tm06vn and the tn30vn I would buy the tn30vn over the tm06vn any day.

If you are looking for a d25cvn I would reccomend the xpg2 pdtn or pdtc as it throws better and puts out less heat than the xpl. The xpl gets very hot and fast on turbo (30 seconds).

I also have a thrunite tisvn to test, but no imr10440. Vinh is sending me some batteries to test that light.

These took a lot of time to test - I spent about 4 hours sunday and another 2-3 last night. Hopefully everyone enjoys the numbers :) I enjoyed testing them.

Awesome work again jmpaul, really appreciate the effort you put into doing these, thanks heaps. I'm stunned at the figures you got for the D25Cvn XPG2 PDTc.....! 24K Lux for a torch the size of my thumb......!!
Amazing work Vinh...!

This one is not PDTn. Just factory Dedeome. Numbers should be close as either are U2 bin.

After testing both the tm06vn and the tn30vn I would buy the tn30vn over the tm06vn any day.

Why is that? Price, or would you rather have the TN30vn even if they were the same cost?

I would have the tn30vn even at the same cost.

It has a nicer feel, finish and thrunite just makes a better product than nitecore does.

Just my opinion though, I am sure there are others that will prefer the nitecore.

I think the numbers, runtime and size for this light are very attractive. However I am going to hold on to the release of this light due to one more very important development for this light. It might be the first light to have this treatment. Stay tuned :-)

I not only enjoy :), but I very much respect  all the time and effort you put in to testing, and greatly appreciate:thanks: your sharing the results:goodjob: with everybody. :grouphug:

Agreed! These lumen and candela values have certainly helped me a LOT in deciding which Vinh lights to buy.
