Joinable poles

Im pretty sure these are not turned on a lathe but somehow pressed:

Do you guys know how to make them? I need to make 3x 2mt (about 7ft) tall poles using this method for easy carry. Aluminium tubes are easy to find in many sizes here.

After thinking a while about this it seems the simplest solution would be to add a smaller diameter tube inside and press fit it or fix it with a few rivets.

The rod in the hollow pole is the way it is commonly done. A very slight taper near the ends of the pin will help in getting them started. You do not want too tight a fit. Galling can be a real bear when you are trying to force them together or take them apart.

Make the rod several times longer than the diameter of the hole.
