Hey guys, I just got my Elly and I tried it a few times and was working great. And then all of a sudden it won't turn back on now. I didn't do anything at all and I put in the right kind of batteries. Does anyone know how to help me?

There's not that much to a flashlight, and solid state electronics can exhibit failure early in their lives. It would probably be best if you can contact the vendor that you purchased it from to see if you have any recourse or if there is any kind of warranty for the light.

yeah I tried that and new batteries ... doesnt work

I have two of these, and one of them made poor battery contact and wouldn't turn on reliably (you could hear battery rattle). If tightening the bezel doesn't do it, try gently expanding the tailcap spring by pulling on it with a set of needle-nose pliers. Did the trick for me.

Sorry that doesn't work either. Maybe I just got a bad unit. Any other ideas?

Take off the bezel, and solder the negative contact to the screw next to it.
(blue wire soldered to negative contact and to the screw next to it). Most likely that going to solve the problem if it was a contact issue.
I bought 12 ELLY lights, so far all of them working fine.

Just bought a Inova 24/7 two weeks ago, pulled it out of the package and proceeded to turn it on.Nothing.Changed battery still did not work.Looked closely at the tailcap and found a large sum of grease stuck in the end of it.Cleaned out the grease and now it works fine.Someone got a little to generous with greasing the threads I guess.

The wire under the star might not be making contact because the star screws loosened and/or the bare copper wire oxidized.

Try NiMh. Elly don't work well with alkaline (at least mine 2 don't).
All of mine work great with alkaline.

Matter of fact, they even work ok with cheap crappy carbon zinc batteries.

My Elly needed some coaxing to work after I messed with the star. Open it up and unscrew the pill portion a bit and tighten it back down again. it will work.
