I've been lurking in the background reading posts and such, finally registered on CPFand shortly thereafter made a purchase. After reading many posts I decided on an Elektro Lumens Stunner--soon to find out Wayne didn't make them anymore. We went back and forth several times and he mentioned had a K2 prototype, actually 2 of them and didn't need them both--through several emails with Wayne he let me buy one of them, #3. A direct drive model. Well I got it today and it is amazing! 26,000 lux and 1000 lumens--says Wayne. Took a walk with it this evening with fully charged D cells. I just cant get over how bright this thing is. It's like a huge camera flash that doesn't go out. Just glancing into the beam makes me feel like I should be wearing welders gogles-just insane! Well, I wanted something unusual, and extremely bright, unique-and I got it.
Just wanted to say thanks to all the members of CPF, enjoying your posts to help me make a decision on spending some hard earned cash.
Happy as a pig in . . . well you know. :D

Is there a standard camera setting for beam shots. 125th 60th? I could hold the shutter open, but that wouldn't be fair.

Wow. "A camera flash that doesn't go out" <- that's a neat description.

I think you got one that's brighter than the normal "production" model, because those have resistors. Also, it might be hard on batteries, due to the HUGE current.

How hot does it get?

The few times I've been playing with it it hasn't got very hot at all. Don't get me wrong it gets warm, but I've never had to put it down.
I love messing with my buddies that have just bought surefires and streamlights.

with 1000 worth of LED lumens, your light owns most lights easy short of mid range HID or short lived hotwire :lolsign:
