Today I received my Tigerlight and Im very very impressed with the beam and build quality. The unit was lighter then I expected and build quality was very high.

This baby sure can light up something. Damn. Well Im sure you all know.

I didn't receive a manual or warranty card and have no idea how long it takes to fully charge. Also is there anything special I should know about the pepper spray unit? Anything I should know about the battery itself? I emailed TL for the following items, but I figured I'd ask here while they got back to me. They've been great so far with their CS.

Thanks.

EB

10 hours for the initial charge. I have the 8".
Big warning to NOT turn the light on while in the charger.
Do not use an extension cord. Look in the DEALER section or do a search. I think It is OK to use a circuit breaker surge strip. Not sur tho.
"When the light goes dim turn the light off. Warranty doesn't cover overdischarging. This'll void the warranty."
Best to wait till you get the paperwork for the pepper spray.
"Remove end cap actuator located above the "caution pepper spray" warning.
insert pepper spray into compartment.
insert index finger under actuator guard (flip cap) and hold the button down so the actuator can be aligned with the hole in the top of the cannister. Pointing spray nozzle away from you carefully align the bottom of the actuator into the top of the cannister. DO NOT PUSH IT IN!!
Once aligned, remove your index finger allowing the end cap to lower into place. Hold spray nozzle away from you and TURN FLASHLIGHT BODY to tighten down.
Once tightened it should be ready for use"
The pictures are a big help with the pepper spray. Tho I suspect it's intuitive.
Remember to turn the Flashlight body not the cap to tighten.
Regards
Tom

That's very strange that you didn't get a manual. My FBOP came with a nice one with photos & everything.

The Fed. Bureau of Prisons (FBOP) version is exactly the same internals as the 11" original, just doesn't have pepper spray unit part.

Here's the scoop as I remember it regarding the charging. Paraphrases of the manual are in quotes, although some may be from what I've read on the forum via my vague memory. The rest is my comment.

- "First time to charge is 10hrs. After that it's shorter" (don't know why that would be but that's what the manual said). The manual said to let it fully charge the first time. I sure as heck couldn't wait, so I just used it some but didn't wear it down.
- "When the light's in the charger, don't turn it on." I did that accidentally. Had no problem.
- "Don't let it run down to zero." I accidentally left it on when at the computer and using it as a room light. Again, no problem.
- "Remove the light and use it for a bit at least once a week." Somebody posted in another thread that Randy the TL inventor has had one on a charger for pretty much a year with no problems.
- "The NiMH was chosen so the light could be used for a while, then returned back to the charger without need to worry about memory effect."

YMMV

BTW: I fitted a UCL lens from flashlightlens.com and it was an good difference from the scratched up lexan.

I can't comment on the pepper spray except that I remember the manual imploring users to keep the spray head clean and to clean it after every use.

[edit] oops sorry about the redundant info. I was composing while the other post came up.

EB,
When you're screwing down the cap on the pepper spray, I think you're supposed to point the nozzel toward your face. That way, if it sprays accidently, you'll know it quicker & can correct the situation, so you don't waste the spray. :>) TX

Yeah I figured thats what I should do. After all I figured a little pepper spray in my GI system would probably help out my ulcer quite a bit and help improve my degrading vision (glasses are for sissy's) j/k

I just got done cleaning out the reflector area and inside the lens. Very dusty and some debris.

Thanks again for everyones help.I was missing some kind of video or something that was supposed to be part of the package. Dont care about the video too much.

So far

Pro: GREAT light/beam and feels solid.

Cons: 3 things missing from order? inside reflector dusty, On end of light some HA is missing and silver is showing through.

Let me say that the beam this puts out is INSANE

bewshy... i too just received my Tigerlight today, but it is the FBOP model. It appears that both models ship with the same manual.

So I took the liberty to scan the pages and post them here. ENJOY!

I really hope that these pictures will display instead of giving you an error message. I'm using Imagestation.com, and sometimes it gets a little screwy.

Also, these pictures should show up very large in your browser. If not, then the browser is automatically resizing the pictures to fit on screen, thus reducuing its resolution and its readability. If you are using Internet Explorer, go to TOOLS > INTERNET OPTIONS, then click on the ADVANCED tab and scroll down to the multimedia section and uncheck "Enable automatic image resizing."

I hope this shows on your computer and i hope it helps.

If all else fails... I invite you to go directly to the album where all the pictures are stored...here:

Hi Laurence,
IS does not allow direct linking.

You will have to link the previews if you want them to show in your post.
To get the original pic, add ".orig.jpg" to the url.

Thanks LEDagent for taking the time to do that. It is GREATLY appreciated! After I get to work I'll put our T1's to use and download it =)

TL got back to me today and said they will send me one. There customer service has been great.

I would like to thank everyone for their help and time. I know the manual isn't a big deal really, but I appreciate everyones help

The TL comes pre-scratched. That way you don't have to worry about yourself scratching it.

All kidding aside, the finish on the TL leaves much to be desired. I bought the double deal and they both have a crappy finish. All my lights are working lights so I don't sweat the work marks that they get but I would like to at least start from a nice finish.
