I have been debating over a P2D and P1D for a while now but I made up my mind and got the P1D. After I placed my order I realized that I forgot to chose the color of my new light, so I called the fenix store in hopes they would change it for me. The REP. I spoke to told me that fenix was not making lights in natural finish anymore :ohgeez:and that they were being replaced by the olive finish. :twothumbs After telling me they only had black he paused and said the magic words "a new shipment" of olive P1D's just arrived so I had him change it to olive. I can't wait for this light It will be my first single cr123 light and my second fenix.

Same thing happened to me when I ordered my P3D. I meant to order Olive, did so by picture alone, and ended up with Natural on my order. I called the Fenix Store and had no problem getting it changed. They're wonderful to deal with.

I use rechargeable CR123A batteries in a P1D CE Q5 with no issues re modes. I read somewhere the max voltage for P1D CE is four, so I usually make sure the battery is 4V or under. No problems so far :)

How is that Olive finish? Tougher than the black?

A P1D with RC123 (3.7v) will work but will have no low mode, as I recall.

The low and medium modes produce "turbo" output on an RCR123.

Congrats on your purchase. My wife now carries a P1D and she loves it. It is a great light. I am disapointed to hear they are discontinuing the Natural finish. I for one like that finish a lot. Both my wife and my father carry Fenix now with the natural finish and I think it has a more expensive look to it plus it doesn't show scratches like the Black. Never fails.
