Now what should I do with it :). I want to mod it but not sure which way to go with it. Not sure if I should go with a drop in or mod it myself or what batteries I should run it in.

This really depends what is bright for you. You might think that 240 lumens is amazing, or you might think that 1100 lumens is nothing much. I guess i need more info on what you want to do with the light.

Personally, I have a mag 2D in my truck with a dhs heatsink, ssc p4, and a 700mah driver, all running on 2D's. This is a great setup for a backup light that stays in my truck. I use it for general tasks, tonight i used it to get my girlfriends fishing lure out of a tree, and shining for deer on the way out of the fishing spot.

Let us know a budget and a general idea of what you might want, I know that will help us to help you.

Well I have a 6P with a m60 and the brightness level is nice for its size but I want this maglite to blow it away.

Yeah I checked out that thread its very overwhelming all the options. Not sure where to start. I was thinking about a malkoff p7 but then im not sure what batteries I should run. I was also looking at ucl lens but there is 2 different thicknesses not sure which 1 I need.

Well the Malkoff P7 drop in needs 6V-13V for full output. There are a couple of options to do that.

fivemega makes 2D to 6AA adapters and 2D to 8AA adapters. The 6AA will give 7.2V with NiMh batteries. It doesn't require any modifications to the light.

The fivemega 8AA to 2D will give 9.6V if you get the one that puts all 8 batteries in series. You need to quad-bore the light to get this adapter to fit.

There is another member that makes Mag AA battery adapters I don't recall who though.

Jesus Hernandez will do Mag boring. http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/...d.php?t=156080

Personally I like the lower current because it reduces resistive losses in the light (it isn't a huge difference but it is there).

There are also resistance mods you can do-
1) New Tail Spring- http://www.kaidomain.com/ProductDetails.aspx?ProductId=1734
2) Modded tail spring- http://homepage.mac.com/rouses/circuits/PhotoAlbum373.html and http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=130965
3) Switch mod- http://homepage.mac.com/rouses/circuits/PhotoAlbum289.html and http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=99710

You can also run 2 18650 Lithium batteries. They should be lighter than the AA's. Malkoff (among others) sells adapters to make these fit in a Mag. Personally I was happy with regular AA eneloop batteries. They are easy to come by and you can run regular alkaline AA's in a pinch, plus I didn't have to get a special charger.

You might also want to think about an OP reflector. Some people say the P7 has artifacts without it. For the Malkoff P7 you would want a camless reflector with a 15mm opening. Like this: http://www.kaidomain.com/ProductDeta...ProductId=5632

I putting together a 2D Mag with a fivemega 8AA to 2D, boro lens from fivemega, quad-bored by Jesus, and an OP reflector from KD.
