Hello,
First off, awesome forum!

I have just purchased 6 akoray K-106 (5 mode) flashlights.

I have the older orange tailend 3 mode one and it works great, thats why i brought these.

Upon inspection, they all looked fine just like my older akoray, but the problem is once turned on, they will all switch modes with the slightest tap. One even switches modes if you tilt it back and forth.

Is there something I can do to stop this? Securing the battery seems to help it a little.

Thanks!

I just got one of these Akorays from Dx. It does not work with alkaline or lithium AAs. No light, nothing.

Sounds like the spring is a little too short. If you can access the tailcap, gently stretch the spring so it exerts more pressure on the cell. I fixed a friends K-109 by doing this.

Thanks for the tip, i've tried this, and it has helped somewhat.

I got these from DX
No surprise that they don't work, then.

We get far too many DX sob-stories here, where against all the advice available from experienced members here, people still cheap out and buy shoddy goods from DX/KD. We can't support a new thread for each of these tales of woe. Thread closed.
