Newly Enlightened
i bought a romisen l-b030, one of their 30mw lasers. well, i was dumb and messed up the lens, and couldnt get it to properly focus. so, i had a useless diode, and empty torch body. (if anyone wants the diode/board/heatsink, hit me up, ill let it go cheap) anyways, i found kaidomain.com while looking for a p7 driver. well, i found a drop-in p4 module that fit the light. http://www.kaidomain.com/ProductDetails.aspx?ProductId=1869
anyways, it took a little bit of work, but now it is a useful torch, instead of an empty shell collecting dust. im currently powering it with a rcr123, and a nimh 2/3a, or aa, im not sure. its out of a battery pack from an rc car that was destroyed. its damn close in brightness when compared with my n3-q5. at first, i dropped 2 rcr123s in, and noticed right away the tint was blue, and it got hot in a hurry. i then smelled some magic smoke, so i thought it was done. but it lives! heres a few pics.

its not actually quite that bright. my camera is old, and is a point n shoot type, so it overexposes it. (please excuse the mess:nana

n3-q5 on left, modded L-B030 on the right. slight blue tint, probably due to being overdriven.

kinda odd thing. i put a dmm on the tail to see current draw. with just the rcr123, it drew about 700ma. with the nimh as well, it draws about 1.60A. ive no clue why. im not to worried about the led, so if it dies, it dies.
in a couple of days, im going to order some 17670's, and use those instead. tell me whatcha think!.......:thumbsdow lol
