I dont think the Kroma uses the K2 emitter, infact you are the first one to
mention this..

Does it?

I sure hope so...The K2 is not something i would like yet..
Unless the Kroma is running at 1500 Ma but i doubt it both because of the output and Runtime.

Past experience suggests a tighter spot, but less spill, so I suppose it would seem brighter at the center...

The beam has good spill and in my opinion, the optics are superb. I prefer the beam to my KL1 because of the very useful spill.

Regarding the 50 Lumens, from my experience, it is accurate to say that it has a very similar output to the A2.

I posted some thoughts in this thread if you want to take a look.

Oh, wait... it's called a K2 Kroma but the "K2" doesn't refer to a K2 LED?

LOL, okay, my bad for assuming... ...I'm done. :)

I'd expect more from a $300 light and I would think the Military would need much more brightness than this. The A2 is useful, but I wouldn't consider it bright. And if that's all it is, I wouldn't by one for that price. My opinion, of course.

There is contradiction in Surefire's website regarding the K2 Kroma. In the simple product description it lists 50 lumens max output, but if you dig deeper in the website and go to the catalog you'll see they state 60 lumens maximum output.

Brightness isn't the that big of a deall, we tend to push it to the top of the list but it really isn't in this case. If you want bright, hotwire and HID. If you want functionality, that is where LEDs are king.
