I notice that when using Kai's reflector (with cam) and bi-pin adapter, the bulb position is too high above the reflector base that I cannot focus the light. The bulb needs to be very near the base to have a focused beam. It seems like the cam is not deep enough to push the bulb down to the reflector base.

Has anyone here experienced this same problem and what are the possible solutions?

I had to grind down the brass in between the bi-pin holes. This allowed the bulb to seat down farther because the bulbs I was using had a little piece of glass sticking down. I eventually just went out and bought five mega's version, because it is about as close to perfect as you can get.

What i did was to ties up the sliding up/down post with cable ties in its lowes position.

You could also unscrew the cam from the reflector, put a piece of sandpaper (wet/dry type) on a flat surface, and sand down the cam until it's a bit shorter. You can even change the angle if you like!
