well it came in today. it is shorter than a stock spring. there's a bit of a problem. if you look at it from the top, it rotates counterclock wise. you say so what. well the end of the spring sticks up at an angle so it grinds at the bottom of your battery/battery case.
now i'm not sure if would be any better going clockwise like the stock mag spring. if you were to unscrew the tailcap you would get the grinding as opposed to screwing on.
i used plyers to squeeze the end piece in and a little down so it is level. a little cosmetic damage during the process.

pros. nice bling bling look. makes it easier to screw on the tailcap of a mag because it's shorter. possible voltage increase with better conductivity.

cons. because the spring is shorter, i noticed there is more play with the battery carriers. the spring doesn't provide as much tension as the stock mag spring. good thing is that it doesn't matter in a 1D. i shaked it around and there was no difference. it only happened in my 3D where if you shake it you can feel it's not as solid and have a small audible noise. i guess it depends how picky you are.

my own cutdown on a stock spring. i can imagine cutting down a stock spring make some sort of better conductivity. probalby not as much as the material itself(gold/brass)

I have replaced all springs in my M*gs with these. They outperform resistace fixed stock springs (the gold plated springs actually run in circles around modded stock springs). Very nice. Some rattle in 3D M*gs but I can live with that.

That's best done with jumper wires, though, anyway. 90-95% less resistance.

They don't look very stretchable. But maybe even about 2mm length from stretching would do it.

I bought 2 of them, just to have spare springs to work with. In most cases, I think I'll need less spring length.

Like these six Mag springs from different eras I have modded over the years?

Really, the gold plated ones are much better. They don't need to be stretchable; they only need to provide good contact. Rattle can be taken care of.
