Just received this little gem yesterday and so far I'm quite impressed. The quality of the beam is simply superb. Very, very bright. Nice and useful beam with great color. It also feels nice and appears to be well built. I can say it is quite an elegant design.

I believe it is even brighter than my Inova XO and the Mag 3aa led.

The most amazing thing about the whole deal is that it only cost $15 with free shipping. How could it be possible to send this thing all the way here from Hong Kong by air for so little? And it only took less than 2 weeks.

Interestingly, I just order a Fenix EO from the Fenixstore a week ago and when I received the notice for registered mail pick up I thought it was the Fenix EO that was sent. It was quite a surprise to open the package and found the KD SSC-U instead.

I'm going to order a few more of these just to give away.

For the money I don't think you can beat it. I got two, one is a bit brighter than the other, but only slightly. My threads are kinda loose, I'm going to try some teflon tape that I heard someone recommend adding to tighten them up. :)

The beam is beautiful thanks to the SSC. Tint is great. They'd make great gifts.

It doesn't beat my LOD-CE Q4 in the output/throw department, or quality, etc, but it is less than half the price. :)

Do you have any issue with the rubber o-ring?
I received 3 of these KD SSC-U AAA lights two days ago. I had noticed that one of the lights seemed kinda tight to twist on/off, so I applied some silicon grease to the O-ring and it's better. But I also noticed that the other two were kinda loose, so I wrapped those with teflon tape (as someone suggested) about 5 times around seemed a good fit.

Noticing the new V3 version on KD's site, and looking closer at the threads on my one tight light, I apparently got one of the V3 lights even though I ordered these before the V3 was available. Other than the snug fit of the O-ring and extra thread, the V2 and V3 seem identical.

KD is selling extra o-rings at a good price, and I think these are beefier and will make the tailcap tighter.

That is my hope, I ordered some the other day. In the meantime I put a little plumbers tape on the threads and its much better. I tried to find a better fitting O-ring at the hardware store but they didn't have a small enough thickness. We'll see...

Glad you like your light, my first one broke at the first day... threads were really loose (had no o-ring at all) and driver got damaged after tightening it to much.

Otherwise it was really nice and bright :) Almost as bright as my MTE Rebel 100 5-mode

However replacement is on the way together with two brothers ;-) Hope those will be V3's

Got 2. Nice and bright but very loose tail caps (expected V3s, got V2s I think). Ordered some V3 O rings. Teflon tape doesn't work for me - it requires so much the electrical contact is broken....

I wouldn't call this outstanding......just after 1 day.

What exactly are you showing us?

Anyway, I got mine yesterday. I'm not sure which version I got but two extra O-rings were included in the box. The threads a little loose so I put on those extra O-rings and that did the trick. Maybe I'll try the teflon since I have that lying around somewhere. It's noticeably not as bright as my Fenix L0D Q4 "turbo" mode. The photos on the KD website depicts the SSC as being much brighter than the L0D CE and stating it outputs 100 lumens. I believe the Q4 is only a little brighter than the CE so I was led to believe that the SSC would be comparable to the Q4. The tint is also a bit purplish.

This is where the +ve battery makes contact with the SSC module in the Kaidomain SSC-U 1AAA.

I'm kind of lost also. Is the cell or the torch damaged? For example, the Arc AAA is a great torch but it "dimples" batteries. not a problem, that's just how it goes about it's busioness.

If the torch was damaged, we have a problem. Is that what is being shown here?

Call me dumb, but what did it do - crush it?

This picture shows the wear it did on the back of the Cree Module in one day. It was caused by the twisting action of the rear switch to the battery then to the rear of the module.

The reason I am showing the top of the battery is because the +ve anode has no sharp edges and is smooth. Look what it did in such a short time.

This is quite a display, the amount of wear a non-flashaholic would do in a year... done in ONE day.

This, folks, is flashaholism at its best. *and the crowd roars* :nana:

Mine is scuffed up a bit from the past couple months, but it looks to be in good shape.

Ok, I see what your saying. If possible, can you please watch and keep using it to find out if performance will be impacted? I hope with just some wear it will be within tolerance...
