I have a few of the KD E6-21700's and while checking out the site again noticed that they have E6 (18650) Extendable Series for 2 18650's.

Does anyone have one, or know, if the Extendable Series will accept 2 protected (button top) 18650's?

For the price, they really have my interest, IF they will accept protected batts.

EDIT: 12/03/2024 - So I went ahead and ordered a few to try, and I am pleasantly surprised!

They (at least the 3 I've tried here) DO work with "protected" cells!

These are KeepPower P1835J - 18650's, BTW.

Needless to say, more have been ordered!

Don't count on it,
KD lights have stupid short bodies,, and I only use non-pcb cells.

One can only hope they make a V2 in the 21700 host w/ a longer body & quality forward clicky.

Normally I'd agree with you, but I am very happy with the reverse clicky in the E6-21700's I have

They make my Malkoff M361 actually work better for me, in a way that I now like

It also made me purchase 6 more M361's (4 N's and 2 new "cool white")

I had a M361 from (I believe) 2015, and I hated it with a forward clicky

So, I stored it away in 1 of my back-up boxes

I happened to find it right after I got my E6-21700's and tried it out and now it works SO MUCH BETTER!

Which is why I'm hoping to find out about the E6 18650's

But yes, I do wish the E6-21700 bodies accepted "protected" 21700's

It's great when you have something like a Malkoff on the shelf and one day find another part to make it work well.
I don't dislike reverse switches, but if I had two seconds to decide,, I'll almost always take a forward.

Regarding the battery tube lengths on KD lights,, maybe I was a bit harsh and only really talking about some of their 21700 lights.
guessin' we all thank them for actually having a 21700 P60 host

I know/agree with what you are saying, as before discovering that the M361's work so well (at least for me) with the reverse clickies, I also was not a fan of the reverse clickies (with certain exceptions).

As to the KD E6-21700's, while I do wish I could use my longer, protected cells in them, they really are a great little light (at least for me), and for the price, are hard to beat.

And yes, I wish MORE 21700 bodies were available, and if at reasonable prices, even better.

It looks like I'm going to have to bite the bullet and order a couple of the E6 (18650) Extendable Series lights to try...............
