Finally, after years of waiting, I was able to maybe grab the last one that could be produced... FiveMega found back part after part, finally only the tailcap was missing, if I remember correctly, it took him a week or so to find it back ;-)
But then: it was ready! This is no flashlight anymore... it's pure ART!! It has a glass lens, a very light orange peel metal reflector, a magcharger slug built-in so I could plug in those G4 sized bi-pin bulbs immediately, and it has the stock Maglite D switch. I connected some rods and added a nicely machined extra part to the battery holder, so its capacity was enlarged from 8 to 12 cells (4P/3S config) and I added a WA 1166 bulb (11.6V / 1.97A) and I switched it on. Whoow, now THAT is Light with a capital L! Repositioned the bulb a bit for a perfect beam. Now I have that long-running and bright incandescent flashlight I always wanted! It will run roughly 7 hours on 12 of those Wolf Eyes 3400mAh 18650s...
