Kinda Newbie Overwhelmed

Twenty odd years ago I created a "mod" by cramming 12 "AA" batteries into a 3D Maglite.
All that was required was some average soldering.

Now we have LEDs and heat sinks and goodness knows what else.
Does the forum have a section on "flashlight math" or, better still "So you want to build your own LED flamethrower"?

May all your batteries be fresh!!
