When I first saw that beam comparison I couldn't help but wonder what vintage LS we were seeing. The earlier ones are dimmer.

Nonetheless, I'll buy a KL1 and a KL3 when they are in stock somewhere.

I too have ordered the KL1 and KL3. I am close to ordering the KL2 also. Something about the neatness factor of 19 LED's. If I do that, I want the big bulky tailcap switch too. Does someone know the part number for that big clickie?

Yes YCLO, it is VERY close to the SW02. I was hoping to get one like AL's. It can be viewed about halfway down on this post. It doesn't have the big rubber hat on it. And it looks like the next generation lanyard attachment.

Al is showing the Z48 and SW02 with the rubber removed??

Can I do this at will or will it damage the switch?

I don't know for sure what the best method for removal is. I believe there was discussion on the SFDB about it. Perhaps Al or someone in the know will respond. It appears that you will need to apply a fair amount of force as the lanyard groove you point out is a nice deep seat for the rubber switch guard.

I just forced a flat bladed screwdriver under it and levered them off. There is a tiny dent on the edge but I don't worry about such things. You could try a plastic tool or even cut the shroud off. I've never tried to put one back on.

I took some shrouds off for models I really use the CombatGrips a lot (M3 & M3T) Others like the M2's have the shrouds on...

Thanks McGizmo. But I already have one of those tailcaps. The one I'm looking for is probably twice the diameter and some would say very ugly. I think it's pretty cool though. It's possible they did not go into production.
