OK, I thought maybe it was because I was trying to run the kl3 on a g2 with the recharge kit, but I tried it on my straight g2 and I still don't get any light. any ideas?

The problem is most lilely the KL3 itself.
The KL3 has hit-and-miss compatibility with the G-series.
The problem is probably the spring on the KL3 not making contact with the metal insert in the G2.
Try stretching it a little.

I have the same problem with my KL1 on my E2. I have to crank the head down with much more torque than I would like to get contact. Curiously, Doug Speck's UBH and my KL1 mate up nicely without requiring excessive torque.

Doug: Your tolerances are better than SF's in this case!

i have a question that has probably been answered.
can you run a KL3 on a G2 (nonrechargeable)? what about heat? is the KL an effecient enough cooler that it doesnt need the metal body to be a heatsink?

what is the runtime on lithiums?

TIA
