Hi there,

I am into my fifth month of testing the Kodac low self discharge cells.
Four cells were charged on 5/14/07 and i took another voltage reading
today.
This doesnt tell what the actual remaining capacity test is, but already
these cells are doing much much better than any regular NiMH cells i
have ever had in the past. I will also do a full capacity test soon too.

Here is the data so far...

05/14/2007
30 min charge on all four cells.

06/11/2007
All cells read about 1.323 volts.

07/15/2007
All cells read 1.30 to 1.31 volts.

07/28/2007
All cells 1.302 to 1.306 volts.

08/19/2007
Cells #1 to #3 all 1.300 to 1.301, cell #4 is 1.295

08/28/2007
Cells 1 to 3 all 1.299 to 1.301, cell 4 is 1.293v

10/04/2007
All cells between 1.292 and 1.298v.

As previously noted, the voltage doesnt say everything about the cell,
but at least these cells have a voltage over 1 volt, which is more than
i can say about any regular NiMH cells i've ever tested.

Why don't you discharge them now, in order to determine their remaining capacity?

You waited this long - I'd go for the full year. I have these cells also - They are a little fatter than the eneloops.

I have 8 of these LSD Kodak cells, and they are all working well. They've been in use for about 4 and 1/2 months.

These are so inexpensive at $7.88 a 4-pack, I'm using them as my "beater" LSD cells, strictly charging them in a 15-min. charger.

So what if they die an early death, for that price I'll just go back to Wal*Mart and buy another pack. :duh2:

Hi again,

NiOOH:
Yeah i was thinking of doing it any day now, but have some other
things to do first. It's just a matter of setting it up now.

Elliot:
Well, i dont know if i can wait that long ha ha. I am really
wondering now how well they do over a 5 or 6 month period. I think
i can guess the yearly data once i see the 5 month discharge data.
I dont think i actually have anything that i only use once a year
anyway, i think the longest i go without using something is about
three months.

lumenal:
I have used a 30 minute charge cycle so far, to hopefully get the
cells to work a little longer than the 15 minute charge takes them.
I'll have to see in the future if this helps or not.

vetkaw63:
The cell is stamped with writing: "2100mAh, Min 2000mAh".
I like the 'Min' (minimum) rating too because it appears to
put a lower limit on the capacity, which i have found that
normal NiMH cells do not seem to have, and many normal
cells i have tested turned out to be much lower than their
package indicates.
