What do you have if you take a PT Tec40, replace the faceted reflector with a smooth one, discard the halogen bulb and replace it with a krypton bulb, and strip the protective rubber coating from the bezel leaving just the clear rigid transparent plastic? Well, if you remove the Princeton Tec 40 logo from the side and replace it with the logo for Koehler, you have a Koehler 8800.
The Koehler 8600 is nothing more than a TEC20 subjected to the same inconsiderate humiliation. Other than the TEC20 already having a smooth reflector, it's simply a stripped down TEC20.
The reflector and head is completely interchangeable between the two brands. The Koehler lights are significantly more expensive than the Princeton Tec lights. Now I guess I need to order new lamps and wide-beam reflectors from Bright Guy and turn these things into respectable flashlights.
