kogatana, how did you modify the Legend LX?

I want to buy a Legend LX but I can't help but be repulsed by the look of it. I find the head a bit too big and the unconventional styling just isn't my cup of tea. But being such an inexpensive light, I want to give it a try, rather than spending a tonne of money on more expensive equivalent lights.

Seeing that my budget is very tight right now, I've gradually lowered my wants from a Surefire E2 to a G2, to an ASP Triad then to a Scorpion and now finally to IMHO a not so great looking Brinkmann.

My question is, anyone else removed the rubber on the LX's? Did you have to permanently damage the rubber to get it off? What kind of material is a suitable replacement? kogatana, I took a look at your webshots page and I found your mod looks very tasteful.

The Legend LX rubber grips can be removed without destroying them. For the bezel part, just unscrew the lens ring and the black rubber bit will come off. For the body, you have to pull it off real hard. Taking off the tailcap might help a bit.
