I have a Surefire Kroma that has developed a rattling noise inside the bezel. It sounds kinda like two marble knocking together. The light otherwise works perfectly. Should I sent it back and have it repaired? will they have to replace the whole light? Will it take two or three months?

Unless you give SureFire a call you won't have any idea how long your Kroma will take to be repaired.

If you're worried, give 'em a call and arrange to get it sorted out. No use worrying about it.

Ok thanks, Size 15's I'll do that. If they have to replace the light,I would like to see if they could give me a refund or credit on a new SureFire Optimus or Invictus.

I called SureFire today. They said 2-3 weeks. Said they will probably replace the bezel. Should I insure my pricey little package when I sent it off to SureFire?

I would send it insured just in case.

Do you think SureFire would give me a new light or a refund instead of fixing mine? I would really like to get the new Invitus or Optimus, but I can't afford it. I would rather have one then to have my Kroma fixed!

I don't think that they will give you a new light, maybe new parts if needed. And I do not see SureFire giving you a refund either.

I thought that the Kroma was one of the best that they have. Is it only the noise, yet everything functions as you have stated?

Anyway, good luck-

Yeah that is probably wishful thinking! So then should I even bother sending it in and risk getting a bezel with a less powerful LED or a bad tint! My Kroma has a wonderful white, slightly blue tint.

That is a dilemma. If the beam is that important to you and the rattling doesn't seem to be impacting performance then you may want to suffer it.

However, if you write a letter and send it in with your Kroma that explains that you would really appreciate efforts to ensure any replacement Kroma beam is as closely matched to your one as possible. That may help.

Difficult choice - I don't envy you.

Good Luck!
