I have one question for those of you who may know, where in the assembly does the clear ring get placed? You see it in the last photo sitting around the reflector.

ETA: If the head is the old style with the flush plastic bezel ring, the clear plastic ring goes behind the reflector, on the backside. Then insert the reflector, sponge ring, black plastic sponge support, oring, lens,then bezel.
For the newer metal bezel styles, the clear ring goes on the topside of the reflector. So first insert the reflector, then the clear ring around it, then the sponge, black sponge support,rubber oring, lens, black lens washer, and bezel.
The earlier style had no black plastic lens washer since the bezel itself is plastic.
