Does anyone know if you can put the new KX2C 120 lumen head on a Surefire E1B? What kind of results would you get and what type of battery would be needed to power it? Thanks for your assistance.

In a 1x123 form factor, the KX2C needs a 3.7V RCR123 (rechargeable). I have an single mode E2DL head on an E1E body, which is basically the setup you're describing. In my experience, output is just slightly less than the same head powered by two CR123 cells, but more than a stock E1B. I would guess about 90 lumens. However, another member posted that output was slightly less than an E1B, so your mileage may vary. I can't remember what kind of runtimes I was getting. I think it was about 45 minutes of regulated output.

The KX2C running on a single RCR123 would yield around 70-75 lumens. If the RCR123 measured around 4.5v, then you'd get around 90 lumens. As Nathan said, YMMV.

Would this still have the two different levels? I'm pretty sure it's yes, but I'm not sure if the KX2C is different from the E2DL.

No, the KX2C is single mode. If you want two levels, get the current E2DL head.
