Usual nomenclature, X axis=30 min divisions.
Y axis= lightmeter readings, 8.0 considered minimum useful output for me.
I discovered that my local Woolworths (UK) was selling off Cegasa Super Alkaline Promotion AA batteries (with free keyring !).
Easter Sale.
Original price £2.99 for 4
Offer £2.99 for pack of 8
Easter markdown / EOL sale £1 for pack of 8 !!
Works out at 12p (20c) per battery.
Too good a bargain to miss., I bought a couple of packs, tried them in various torches, Fenix L1P gave an amazing RT of nearly @ 6 hours.
6 hours, easily better than Lithium @ 3 hours, and much better than Duracell Plus, @ 2.5 hours. (2,000 mah nimh @ 2.5 hours too)
However, disappointing results in L2P, RT only @ 2 hours, less than Duracell Plus @ 3 hours, L2P Lithium @ 6 hours only close RT, to L1P Cegasa.
12 LED Ghost2, gave RT in excess of 6 hours, Duracell Plus @ 5 hours, nimh @ 4 hours.
Whatever the reason, the RT in L1P is truly amazing, for an AA alkaline battery costing 12p !! (20c)
Note that the output is virtually identical to the Duracell Plus Alkaline for 2.5 hours, when the Duracell declines rapidly, but the Cegasa just keeps on going !!
Needless to say, I went back and bought the remaining 10 packs.
Cegasa ? I'd never heard of them either.
Portugese / Spanish ? company who according to sources make batteries for other companies. (inc D ?)
I couldn't discover rated capacity for the AA's, but their chemical characteristics are definitely suited to L1P's.
Not Oxyrides, which BTW are rubbish in L1P's.
I don't really understand why they are so poor in L2P's though.
Has anyone else come across Cegasa's ?
(These are the same batteries, but from a different supplier)
